Membership covers you anywhere in Australia
By becoming an Ambulance Victoria member, you and your family will be covered for emergency and clinically necessary non-emergency ambulance treatment and transport across Australia. Whilst you must live in Victoria to be eligible to apply for Ambulance Victoria membership, members are covered for the same benefits interstate that they would have received had they been in Victoria.
Medicare does not cover ambulance services
Ambulance transport and treatment is not a free service. Medicare does not cover the cost of emergency transport or other ambulance services. Average emergency transport cost is in excess of $2,000. Make sure you have genuine Ambulance Victoria Cover.
Eligible Victorians holding a valid Pensioner Concession or Health Care Card currently receive free clinically necessary treatment and transport. Benefits do not apply when being transported from a private healthcare facility.
