Treatment and transport invoices

Ambulance Victoria fees

In Victoria, you have to pay for ambulance services. Ambulance Victoria fees are decided by the Department of Health. If you don’t have a membership, concession, or other coverage, you’ll need to pay for the care you get. Sometimes, another party might cover the cost of ambulance treatment and transport.

Coverage

Some people are covered for the cost of ambulance treatment and transport services.

Hardship assistance

If you receive an invoice for Ambulance Services and find it difficult to pay we can help if you need hardship assistance.

Treatment without transport

Ambulance Victoria charges a fee if we treat you at the scene, even if you don’t go to the hospital. This treatment can include medical assessment, care, or advice.

You won’t be charged if someone else called the ambulance and you didn’t know about it or couldn’t have agreed to it. If the same ambulance crew treats multiple people at one event, the fee will be split between everyone treated.

We send invoices based on the information we have when processing. If you think you got an invoice by mistake or were treated with others, you can call 1800 990 029 to ask for a review.
