The Ambulance Victoria Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Jordan Emery as the organisation’s new Chief Executive Officer.

A widely-respected healthcare leader and clinician, Jordan is currently the Chief Executive of Ambulance Tasmania after leading operational and clinical services at NSW Ambulance and working in global mental health in New York and East Africa.

Ambulance Victoria Board Chair Shelly Park welcomed Jordan to AV and said his appointment represents an important step forward for the organisation as it continues its focus on delivering world-leading, patient-centred emergency healthcare to the Victorian community.

“We are delighted to have attracted a leader of Jordan’s calibre,” Shelly said.

“Jordan joins us with a distinguished background of leadership across Australian ambulance services where he has led sustained culture change and reform, as well as contributing to the advancement of paramedicine through his teaching roles and with the Council of Ambulance Authorities (CAA).

“The Board looks forward to working with Jordan, the Executive Team, and leaders right across the organisation to continue delivering on AV’s strategy to be a world-leading ambulance service focussed on its people, patients and connection with the community.”

Jordan has led Ambulance Tasmania since June 2023. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Tasmania, Board Director of CAA and Chair of the CAA Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Forum. He holds a Bachelor of Clinical Practice (Paramedic) with Distinction from Charles Sturt University, as well as a Master of Public Health and a Master of Health Management from the University of NSW. He is a registered paramedic with AHPRA and completed his Intensive Care Paramedic training with NSW Ambulance.

Jordan was awarded the Ambulance Service Medal in the 2024 King's Birthday Honours for his industry-wide leadership and culture reform.

“Ambulance Victoria has a world class reputation, built on the strengths of its people, research profile and exceptional clinical care. In every corner of AV, people are undertaking incredibly important roles in service to others. I want to listen and learn from those people, and importantly act on the feedback I receive,” Jordan said.

“It is a profound privilege to lead Ambulance Victoria and I’m so grateful for the support of the Board, Executive team and organisation.”

In announcing Jordan’s appointment, Shelly Park also paid tribute to the leadership of Interim CEO Andrew Crisp who stepped aside from his Board role in August 2024 to head the organisation.

“I want to thank Andrew for his outstanding leadership of AV during a period of transition and we look forward to welcoming him back to the Board upon Jordan’s commencement on 30 June 2025.”
