FOI data released

In response to a freedom-of-information application, Ambulance Victoria has provided the following data in relation to locations which have been flagged for potential physical safety issues.

These locations were listed for the period from 1 January 2016 to 13 March 2018.

The following information assists in interpreting the data:

  • The “violence” column refers to locations where police attendance is required, due to previous violent incidents and unpredictable behaviour at the residence involving the patient or other residents at the address and it is assessed that police attendance is required, to ensure the safety of Ambulance Victoria staff in order for them to carry out their duties.
  • The column “physical safety” relates to addresses where patients or individuals who have, or may have, behavioural issues and are, or may be, a threat to Ambulance Victoria staff. This can range aggressive dogs at the premises, weapons on the premises, unsafe houses, verbal threats of aggression and actual assaults on Ambulance Victoria staff members.
