GoodSAM Responders

GoodSAM responders

As a health professional, emergency services worker or first aider, you’re trained to respond in an emergency. Being part of the GoodSAM community gives you another opportunity to be ready to save a life.

GoodSAM responders are appropriately trained and qualified people who have been verified by Ambulance Victoria or the organisation you work with to become a trusted responder.

Ambulance Victoria paramedics and members of the following partner organisations can register as trusted responders:

  • St John Ambulance
  • Country Fire Authority (CFA)
  • Life Saving Victoria
  • Chevra Hatzolah
  • Australian Volunteer Coast Guard
  • Health professionals registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

To become a trusted GoodSAM responder, download the GoodSAM Responder app from the app store on your Smartphone.

It’s important to know that in Victoria we are only using the GoodSAM Responder app. You might see the GoodSAM ‘Alerter’ app available on the app store – however this is only used in areas where established emergency services do not exist.
