How to apply as a Volunteer

Depending on where you live and if an auxiliary is already in place will determine how you can apply to volunteer for an auxiliary.

In the first instance it is best to contact our Community Relations Manager, Tracey Milne, on 03 5338 5230.

Establishing Interest for a new Auxiliary

AV Staff and community members at any stage can establish an ambulance auxiliary if there is sufficient interest.

Those that are interested in establishing an auxiliary should contact the Community Relations Manager to discuss their plans, seek support and obtain a copy of relevant documentation.

What is required:

  • a reason for establishing an auxiliary, eg. to raise funds to purchase a piece of equipment, raise public awareness etc;
  • a minimum of five (5) interested people
  • membership can be a combination of AV staff  and / or community members; and
  • hold a meeting to discuss the role of the auxiliary and discuss any questions;

If sufficient interest is received and all those involved are happy to proceed with developing an auxiliary, then a meeting should be held to address any questions and formalise the process.

The Community Relations Manager will attend the meeting and address those interested in establishing an auxiliary.
