Once a paramedic starts work as a qualified ambulance paramedic, their learning is not over.
We provide our paramedics with a regular professional development program to ensure that skills are maintained. The latest evidence based best practice is adhered to and new procedures are practiced and paramedics are comfortable performing them.
This can range from new equipment such as a 12 lead ECG through to latest resuscitation guidelines or new drug policies.
Paramedics also undertake specialist training such as the use of personal protective equipment in a situation such a chemical, biological or radiological incident or for the H1N1 swine flu.
