For as little as $30 every 3 months, can your family afford not to be covered?
Julie from Berwick had been an Ambulance Victoria member since 1999. In mid-2008 she went onto a Health Care card and let her AV family membership lapse. In December 2008, when Julie no longer qualified for a Health Care card she had planned to renew her Ambulance Membership, but with Christmas and the festive season approaching she didn’t get around to it.
Sadly, early in 2009, with no family cover in place, Julie needed to call an ambulance for her daughter. Thankfully Julie’s daughter fully recovered after being transported to hospital for observation. Unfortunately Julie received an $868 transport bill.
If Julie had renewed her Ambulance Victoria membership immediately upon no longer qualifying for her Health Care card, her family would have been 100 per cent covered.
