Ambulance Victoria is proud to support its colleagues at Victoria Police and in particular on Blue Ribbon Day held on 29 September each year to honour those killed in the line of duty. In total, 157 Victoria Police members have made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our community. Of these, 30 have been murdered, which underlines the dangers police members face on a daily basis.
The Blue Ribbon Foundation recognise that we can do nothing to bring them back, but as a grateful community we can take steps to honour their memory and ensure their sacrifice is acknowledged through a range of projects that benefit all Victorians.
As part of Ambulance Victoria’s support, all operational vehicles throughout the state have had the following sticker applied.
These stickers will be made available by the Community Education & Engagement department via AV departments and branches throughout the coming days.
