Two women injured in Williamstown collision

20 Oct 2009

A woman ducked to avoid serious injury in a three car collision at Williamstown last night.

Intensive care paramedics from Footscray and advanced life support paramedics from Altona were called to Koroit Creek Road at 9.30.

Intensive care paramedic Brett Overend says two cars collided with another vehicle which was towing a boat on a trailer.

‘The force of the impact knocked the boat from the trailer, and crushed the roof of one of the cars,’ he said.

‘A 25 year-old woman was quick thinking enough to duck as the roof was pushed in about 30 centimetres, striking her head.

‘She suffered grazes and back pain.

‘We put a neck brace on her in case she had spinal injuries.

‘The woman was given pain relief and some anti nausea drugs through a drip in her arm.

‘She was taken to the Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

‘A 19 year-old woman was also injured, and was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital,’ Mr Overend said.
