Debris was spread over 40 metres at the scene of a serious collision in Clyde this morning.
Advanced life support paramedics from Cranbourne, intensive care paramedics from Hampton Park, a single responder intensive care paramedic and an ambulance helicopter were called to the corner of Ballarto and Tuckers Road at 7.05am.
Advanced life support paramedic Rob Morley said they arrived within seven minutes to find the car and truck extensively damaged.
‘It appeared the car had collided with the rear of the truck, ripping the car apart and leaving debris 40 metres along the road,’ he said.
‘A 25-year-old man suffered serious head and leg injuries and suspected internal injuries.
‘Given the potential for a spinal injury we fitted a neck brace to the man.
‘A drip was put in his arm and we gave him pain relief and fluids to help stabilise his condition.
‘We cleaned and dressed his wounds and loaded him into the ambulance helicopter.
‘He was flown to The Alfred hospital in a serious but stable condition.’
