A man has fallen through a warehouse roof, dropping eight metres onto concrete at Brunswick this morning.
Advance life support paramedics from Carlton and a single responder intensive care paramedic based at St Vincent’s Hospital were called to the warehouse just before six o’clock.
Intensive care paramedic Kate Cantwell says the first crew arrived within ten minutes to find the man lying on the warehouse floor.
‘The 24 year old man landed on the concrete and some bicycles that were on the floor,’ she said.
‘Even though he had fallen about eight metres, he is extremely lucky that he landed on his arm and side, and not on his head.
‘He has quite a severe fracture to his arm, and possibly a fractured pelvis.
‘We put a splint on his arm, and wrapped his pelvis to reduce movement.
‘He was in extreme pain and was given lots of pain relief, and taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition,’ Ms Cantwell said.
