Ambulance Victoria paramedics attended the scene of a fatal workplace accident in Coburg this morning.
Advanced life support paramedics from Regent, intensive care paramedics from Ivanhoe and a paramedic team manager were called to the building site at 11.10am.
Team Manager Rod Crole said they arrived within nine minutes to a chaotic scene.
‘The 35-year-old man had been pouring concrete into a slab from a concrete pumper when he was knocked into the wet concrete and crushed by the machine’s pump,’ he said.
‘The man’s work colleagues pulled him from the wet concrete and called an ambulance.
‘He suffered serious head, chest, abdominal and shoulder injuries.
‘Paramedics and the MFB performed CPR on the man for 45 minutes but unfortunately he died at the scene.’
