Two men were injured when their car overturned at Tyabb early this morning.
Advanced life support paramedics from Hastings, intensive care paramedics from Frankston and an ambulance helicopter were called to the intersection of Frankston-Flinders Road and Mornington-Tyabb Road just before six o’clock.
Intensive care paramedic Lisa Powell says the car was extensively damaged.
‘The car came to rest on its roof, which was pushed in almost to the height of the seat,’ she said.
‘An 18 year-old man suffered head injuries and possible spinal injuries.
‘He was unconscious for a brief period.
‘A drip was put in his arm and he was given pain relief, and fluids to stabilise his blood pressure.
‘Given he had pain at the back of his head, stretching down into his shoulders, we fitted a neck brace to him to reduce the potential for any spinal injuries.
‘He was taken by road to the Tyabb airport and loaded into the ambulance helicopter.
‘The man was then flown to the Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.
‘Another 18 year-old man suffered a cut to the forehead and was taken to Frankston Hospital.’
