Girl injured in dog attack - Tarneit

26 Oct 2009

A nine year old girl suffered facial injuries in a dog attack at Tarneit on Saturday morning.

Advanced life support paramedics from Werribee were called to a house at ten o’clock.

Paramedic Nathan Lundberg says the girl was injured when the dog attacked her inside the house.

‘We were told the girl was eating and the dog tried to take her food,’ he said.

‘The girl was bitten a number of times on the face when she pushed the dog away.

‘She suffered bite marks to her lip and cheek and was quite upset so we reassured her as we put a moist dressing on her face.

‘An ECG monitor was used to check her heart, and she was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition,’ Mr Lundberg said.
