An 89-year-old woman was treated by paramedics at Elsternwick on Sunday 5 February after an incident involving a treadmill.
Advanced life support paramedics from Windsor were called to the scene just before 7.30pm.
Paramedic Marcus Sawyer said that when they arrived the found the woman in pain.
‘She told us that she hadn’t been on the exercise equipment for a while and turned it up too fast.
‘It appears that she hit her head in the fall before landing on her shoulder.
‘Her left shoulder was clearly injured and it appeared as though it was dislocated with a possible fracture.
‘As we assessed her we also found that she had pain down the left side of her body and bruising to her ankle.
‘Thankfully she was able to recall what had happened.
‘We reassured her and gave her pain relief before taking her to the Alfred Hospital in a stable condition,’ Mr Sawyer said.
